Who's in the 'grand scheme of things' is a very good way of seeing the relationship of all of the companies that have made chips for casinos over the years and they all narrow down their roots of the TR King, Alonzo Burt, and US Playing Card companies.
Christy & Jones was the Kansas city based company that Bud Jones became part owner of. The Christy & Jones company is the company that Paul Endy Jr bought to start Paul-Son. The TH&C mold chips were manufactured by the Burt Co for both C&J and Paul-Son until Paul-Son started their own manufacturing.
So for a short synopsis of all of these:
TR King originally owned by Paul Endy Sr.
Burt Company - Alonzo Burt
USPC molds bought by Burt Company
Burt Company bought by John Kendall who renamed the company to Chipco, now manufacturing injection molded ceramic chips for both casino and consumer markets.
Dies bought by Jim Blanchard who started Atlantic Standard Molding (aka pokerchips.com). ASM is also rumored to manufacture the Unicorn chip for Chipco.
Christy & Jones
Originally Kansas City based. Owned by Bud Jones, dissolved and sold to Paul Endy Jr. and partners in or about 1963. Sold chips with TH&C and Horsehead molds manufactured by the Burt Company. Renamed to Paul-Son Gaming Supplies, continuing to have chips manufactured by the Burt Company until into the late 70's (their roulette chips are rumored to have been made by the Burt Company well into the 1990s. Paul-Son also manufactured a full line of casino products including dice, playing cards, furniture and table layouts, and various table accessories (dealing shoes, chip racks, etc.) Merged wth B&G in 2002 to become Paul-Son Gaming Corporation. Paul-Son also owned Authentic Products Inc which sold it's products to the consumer market, this division was terminated in 2003.
Nevada Dice Company
Started by Bud Jones around 1965, later renamed to Bud Jones Co. Sold to B&G of France in 2000 after Bud Jones' passing.
GPI Gaming - Formed in 2004, formerly known as Paul-Son Gaming Corp. comprised of B&G, Bud Jones, Paul-Son, and T-K (dice) brands.
... and there's probably a bunch of details left out of all of that.
