I use vector images and some bmp files for most of my work on the inlay, the rest I've done from scratch pretty much - the chip and what not... Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard for graphic design these days. The problem for most people is recent versions have been in the $500+ range and now the current version Cs2 is around $900 I think. If you are interested I could give you some help but I can't guarantee quickness because I am already very busy trying to keep up with my chip project on top of being in the military, kids, wife etc.. etc...
