You may be right about looking for a different font.

I like the fade, especially on the wine side.

I don't care for the diamonds on the edge spots. I also don't care for using black as you edge spots on all the chips. I prefer more color contrasts.

EDIT: I do like the increasing number of spots, from 3 -7. That's a nice touch.

Those look really nice man.

I would check into the font just to make sure it wont be too blocky, but with full face graphics it shouldn't be.

Good luck with em, pics when you get em!

The font looks ok, but on the lower text, you may want to increase the tracking a bit. It's probably like that so it will fit the curve properly, but you could always drop it down a point if you need to.

Overall, very nice. I'd say make the outline of the suits on the yellow chip the same color as the "Bistro DeCarlo" on it so they show up better. But again, overall very good job.

These are the other options they sent.

The first varied the color of the wine graphic to match the chip.
The second is a one-sided design. it will save about $150.

I like the two sided design better and I think we are very close.
The font needs work to increase legibility, and the suit background (esp on yellow) needs to be easier to see. I might like to see it with and without the fade to see how much that helps.

I just don't know about the edge spots. I like the diamonds and I like how they increase in number with the color change, but a more colorful design might be nice. I will have to think about it. Any more specific advice other than just more colorful?

All I can say is that you are going to end up with some amazing chips. I like the "more expensive" option better. The edgespot idea is good - I even like the diamonds. Perhaps the same font but not as "bold" would be best.

I have emailed Patrick with several minor corrections to increase the legibility of the font and make the background pattern stand out more.

I am still uncertain about the edge spots:

PRO - It is something that could only be done on a ceramic chip. Since it isn't a clay chip, why try to make it look like one? It doesn't look like everyone else's, and it doesn't look like it is supposed to line up with any graphic on the face of the chip.

CON - It isn't as colorful as it could be, and is pretty similar from chip to chip.

In the end, I think I am going to stick with it as is unless I can come up with something different that really grabs me.

L

PS I really appreciate all of the advice I have recieved. Even if I haven't taken all of it, it has been very helpful.

I have been watching these chips develope and I really like what you have come up with. They really look sharp.
As for you edge spots I like them ok and definitly better than none. I have some casino chips with just text on the edge and it makes the chips look too plain. You might try changing the dimonds on some to dots. It might help with a little variety
You have to send pics when you get them
