I just wanted to say hello to everyone and comment that it's nice to finally find some people who are more obsessed with chips than I am!
The only other Poker newsgroup I've read with any regularity is rec.gambling.poker, and the chip discussions over there are very weak. (To further support that point, I posted some information and a link about the Paulson Egyptian group buy on March 30, and not a single person has responded to it) A lot of people there are perfectly content with the plastic chips with the metal slug in the middle, and I was beginning to think I was one of the few who actually cared about owning high quality chips.
Now I feel right at home, and am learning quite a bit from the discussion here. I currently own a non-denom set of 450 chips from
