Why Bud Jones? DO you want used casino chips?

I ask because a good percentage of my samples (small I admit) are cracking and crumbling. I don't see them lasting long once the plastic gets brittle.

i was just about to say the same thing... jk..

but how long have you had those chips?? were they exposed to anything out of the ordinary? im looking at the wsop-style chips seen at the canterbury, and the harrahs rincon, and 4 queens in vegas.... (definitely not the metal center chips)

I think all of the Bud Jones chips have a metal center. You just don’t see it on the labeled ones. Correct me if I am wrong.

Some of the BJ chips that do not appear to ahve metal, really do. The one on the right you see above has copper coins under the sticker.

These chips were given to me by a forum member, along with a few others. So I dont know their history. I have to assume they saw some heavy use in casinos...

the canterbury chips i have are pretty heavily used. i dont think they have a metal insert.... and i dont think they would break easily... i will try a few tactics with my bare hands later on today.... i want to see if they really are that brittle....

V7 chips are the most popular line of Bud Jones chips and are the
heaviest weighted chip thanks to a heavy embedded metal insert.
The 39mm V7 chip weighs 12.3 grams. In order to choose a V7
Bud Jones chip, printing process and security features must be
selected: size of the chip, pattern, color combination, size of decal,
printing process, and security features.
I would think the V6 style would have a smaller metal insert.
Quote:
V6 chips are a special range of chips for casinos that prefer
lighter weight chips. They weigh 10.5 to 11.5 grams and are
available in two diameters: 39mm and 43mm. 43mm chips are
available in patterns H and I. V6 chips with two color injection
are available in all 11 different patterns, and V6 with three color
injection are available with three different patterns.

Not all of mine are "brittle", just the white/blue one above. With that one, I can barely touch one of the pieces and it breaks off. The other one (pink) will break, but not as easily.

Let me check some others:

Nope. i have four more, and they seem pretty sturdy.
