I didn't think they were going to produce any of the JB's with the new mold. I was under the assumption that all that were going to be made have been made already. Anyone??

I dont know that answer, but would put a lot of money on them making/selling a lot more JB's.

I suppose because the new Paulson JBs have the chip designed for the grand inlay. The 'thinner outer band' is about 5mm on these chips. On old/casino Paulson standard inlay chips, this 'outer band' is typically larger (by roughly 3-4mm- measured from the edge of the chip) & has the concentric circles (ala the current Pharaoh's mockups). The Blue-Chip versions of the JBs however have the grand inlay & the 'thin band' style. See below:

- look at that nasty inlay!

Thanks J5! That's exactly what I was refering to by the "thin outer band" vs standard band like the older Paulsons.

On Trademark's Paulson page it states "Due do a mold improvement requested by our customers, we have been forced to move back the delivery date to April 17th. We apologize for the inconvenience. Standard Stock Chips will be available April 17th, 2005."

Shown in the mock-up pictures is a thicker outer band that is about the same as the old Paulsons and much like the Pharaoh mock-ups. I was under the assumption the physical change shown in the Pharoah mock-ups was going to be "the" mold change Trademark was refering to... could be wrong though.

OK - In case this is still unclear to anyone, this is why the Pharaoh's chip mockups look the way they do:

Paulson JBs:

The chip mold seems to be designed for a grand inlay, but contains a standard inlay, leaving a large non-textured area around the inlay. Looks a bit strange to me:

Proposed modification as seen on Trademark site:

No texture is evident, but the 'outer ring' appears thicker, and the Paulson Chips mold looks to be moved slightly inward from the edge:

Pharaoh's chip revision #1 - based on the above proposed change:

I just filled in the inner 'flat' area with crosshatching & moved the mold in a touch. We don't know exactly what the chip will look like, but this is our best guess.

Pharaoh's chip revision #2:

A Paulson standard inlay chip just looks better with concentric circles, so I added them. We do not yet know if the chips will have these.

Here is the mock up of the JB Paulsons from Apache. This was on there site until they recieved the chips and changed the site pictures and every one found out the standard inlay on the grand mold.

Now take a look at those compared to the mock up on Trademark site. They look the same. Trademark has not change the mock up pictures to match what the new mold is supose to look like. The mockup have been the same for months now. I am not sure what the new mold will look like but the to reiterate trademark paulsons and JB paulsons were going to look just alike until tradmark requested a mold change.

I have to assume the Paulson supplied both trademark and apache with the mockups sometime at the end of last year. People seem to think the mockups on trademark have changed when in reality they have not. Its been the same picture on their site for some time.

Ten, have you sent your artwork to Paulson/Trademark? If so, when do you expect to see your mock-ups back from their art dept for final approval? I am really exited to see what the new mold will look like.
